The Years I Put Myself on Hold
Like so many women, I made a choice: I chose my family. I stepped back from building a career and poured everything I had into building a home. Those years were full of love, sacrifice, and meaning. But they also came with something no one talks about enough:
It felt like the world had moved on, the chance was gone, and it might be too late for a new beginning.
I spent years wondering if I could ever step back into the professional world. The gap felt enormous. The confidence felt lost somewhere between school drop offs and dinner preparations. But the dream? The dream never left.
The Moment I Decided to Begin Again
It wasn’t one big moment. Instead, I made a quiet promise to myself to try, even if I failed and even if it took longer than expected. I simply decided to begin.
I signed up for a course at Skillmount Academy on digital marketing. A housewife sitting with a laptop, learning about SEO, social media, content strategy, and paid ads. It felt strange, exciting, and like coming home to a version of myself I had almost forgotten.
